About Us
Dragonfly Editorial is an editing and copywriting firm focused on scientific, medical, technical, and proposal content. We provide impeccable web content editing and web content copywriting services.
Our clients include B2B giants like Booz Allen Hamilton, CSC, and Teradata; publishers like Oxford University Press; and science and medical clients like the American Diabetes Association and the National Academy of Sciences.
We specialize in large editing projects with tight turnarounds —whether it’s a 200-page proposal in one day or a 2,000-page environmental impact statement in two weeks.
Our writing firm focuses on corporate communications and B2B collateral: white papers, data sheets, case studies, web content, sales flyers—anything that clearly explains your value to your customers.
Most importantly, we love making our clients happy. Contact us to learn more.
Meet our senior staff . . .
samantha enslen | president and senior editor
Samantha has spent 15 years editing scientific, medical, and proposal content, much of it in the IT industry. She is the former editorial manager for CSC and a former contributing editor to the Editorial Eye. She is also an award-winning writer who has been recognized for her marketing collateral, including websites, brochures, and white papers. Samantha lived in Washington DC for many years before returning to her hometown of Dayton, Ohio.
Outside of work, Samantha’s favorite writers are Michael Dirda, Nevil Shute, Patrick O’Brian, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. She has a major crush on Bryan Garner.
jim mcdermott | senior writer
Jim McDermott is Dragonfly’s Senior Writer. He advises the company on all writing projects and helps develop Dragonfly’s standards for writing marketing collateral and proposals. Jim has spent more than 10 years writing about IT for companies such as CSC, BearingPoint, EDS, and SAIC. He has also been recognized with IABC’s prestigious Gold Quill Award, among many others. He is based in Falls Church, Virginia.
In between projects, Jim tracks upland birds, following his English setters from the Southeast to the Western prairies. He is the author of A Comfortable Range.
alexis nesbitt | art director
Alexis Nesbitt is Dragonfly’s Art Director. Alexis was formerly at Shelton Group in Knoxville, Tennessee, where her clients included the American Institute of Architects and the Knoxville Zoo. She is the recipient of numerous ADDY, Marcom, and Hermes Creative Awards, including for her identity for Dragonfly. She is now based in Dayton, Ohio.
When she’s not working in CS3, Alexis loves to read, cook, read about cooking, and obsessively nitpick kerning and tracking in the world around her.
amy paradysz | project manager and senior editor
Amy Paradysz is a Project Manager for Dragonfly, with 7 years experience with technical and proposal editing. Amy was formerly at The Globe Pequot Press in Guilford, Connecticut, where she was a managing editor responsible for producing approximately 100 books a year—on time. In that role, she also supervised staff project managers and freelance editors and was responsible for evaluating and reviewing their work.
When she’s not editing, Amy can’t help herself from finding typos in novels. Yoga helps—as does peering out the window of her lakeside cottage in Portland, Maine.
jeni crockett-holme | project manager and senior editor
Jeni Crockett-Holme is a Dragonfly project manager and senior medical editor based in Charlottesville, Virginia. Jeni specializes in content related to health, human services, and technology and holds BELS certification as an editor in the life sciences. She has more than 12 years of experience editing daily news, professional journals, corporate communications, and scholarly manuscripts.
In her spare time, Jeni writes in support of her friends’ artistic endeavors.
margaret walker | technical and proposal editor
Margaret Walker is Dragonfly’s pinch hitter, stepping in whenever needed to help with last-minute proposal requirements. Margaret started her career as a technical writer for Datalogics, a partner of Adobe Systems. She grew from entry-level writer to senior information developer in 8 years. She later reinvented herself as a marketing and advertising copywriter for Knoxville’s Shelton Group.
Margaret now works from home. Her quirky schedule allows for late-night editing and writing projects and leaves plenty of time in the day for rescuing animals, gardening, and cooking.
kathee wheatley | technical and proposal editor
Kathee Wheatley brings Dragonfly more than 20 years of experience editing proposals and technical documents for large IT consultants, government contractors, and commercial clients. She was formerly an editor at Unisys Corporation and a technical editor/writer for Northrop Grumman. She has also written marketing copy for advertising clients. She is based in Loudon County, Virginia, but often works at client sites in Reston, Fairfax, and Falls Church.
Kathee is a former kindergarten teacher and now writes children’s books in her spare time, as well as greeting cards and screenplays (including one used by Fairfax Hospital at a major medical convention). As an editor, Kathee spends much of her time explaining why she spells her name with two “e’s” instead of a “y.”
diana ceres | technical and proposal editor
A seasoned writer and editor, Diana Ceres brings more than 15 years of publications experience to the Dragonfly team. Diana has edited technical proposals for such heavy hitters as CSC, EDS, Booz Allen, and Boeing. She also writes marketing collateral, grants, and web copy for a diverse client base. Diana currently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and does her best work fully caffeinated.
When she isn’t editing proposals, Diana enjoys walking in the arroyos, bending over backwards in yoga class, writing character-driven screenplays, and watching vintage Tarantino with her feline companions.

“I’ve worked with the staff at Dragonfly for years, and I trust their editing completely. We’ve used them on federal proposals, commercial proposals, IT documentation, marketing collateral … you name it. They are especially helpful on large projects, when we need a team of editors to get a lot done in a short timeframe. They also have great writers who can handle everything from white papers to case studies. Dragonfly is our editorial dream team!".
